This Backout/Relief Cut Moulding Knife Design 3-3/8" - 3 measures 3.375" wide, with a .093" depth of cut on the bottom horizontal moulding cutters. This relief cut can be milled on many of our smaller size width baseboard mouldings.
The offset profile is comprised of a 1-1/2" wide, by 3/32" deep plow flanked by forty-five degree chamfers that transition into a 5/8" wide horizontal fillet on the inside edge of the design, with a 1-1/4" wide fillet on the outside edge. This area of the profile is generally the bottom side of the baseboard, it will provide enough space for nailing the moulding during installation, while reducing splitting that may occur from nailing the baseboard thru the voided area on the back side of the pattern. The maximum width this backout could mill is 4-1/8" wide when the horizontal moulder spindle is positioned at .000" axially.
