A base shoe moulding is a functional narrow horizontal wooden profile applied to the bottom of a piece of base moulding, they hide gaps left between an uneven floor surface and bottom of the baseboard. Base shoe profiles are secured to the base moulding itself, not the floor, this practice will keep the wood from splitting due to seasonal changes in relative humidity.
The most common of all base shoe designs is the quarter round profile, we have more quarter round profiles in our radius category for your consideration. We also have geometrical shapes of cyma recta, cyma reversa, ogee's, ovolo, and even some more complex base shoe profiles. But why settle for what is most popular, check out some of our smaller applied mouldings for more stylish options. Whatever you choose to dress up the baseboard, we're confident the profile design will increase the stylish décor of every room of your beautiful home or office.
All these base shoe profiles are categorized by the width size, some of them are milled two at a time, this will double or triple milling production while simultaneously reducing manufacturing cost by utilizing fall off rips of lumber.
