Fluted mouldings are comprised of long vertical semicircular grooves or channels known as flutes, they are milled into the surface of a casing or column at regular intervals that are generally separated by straight fillet, or a radius curve depending on the finished shape of the pattern. Some fluted designs have reeds or half round circles milled on the opposite side that creates a universal, dual purpose moulding to better serve two different applications within the home. Whether the pattern is asymmetrical or symmetrical they will always compliment a rosette or plinth block moulding. These types of patterns are often installed as casings to trim around door openings, windows, cabinets, curtain rods, and fireplace mantels.
We currently offer over one hundred and eighty different decorative styles including single, multiple, casings, half round profiles used as applied mouldings, full rounds, pencil trays, and so much more. If by chance you don’t see the design you desire, just send us a sketch, we be happy to design and make a set of custom knives for any geometrical shape you require.
