This Backout/Relief Cut Moulding 6-1/4" - 3 measures 6.250" wide, with a .093" depth of cut on the bottom horizontal set of blades. This profile is designed to be utilized on many of our larger width sized baseboard mouldings.
The offset profile is comprised of a 3-3/4" wide by 3/32" deep plow, with forty-five degree chamfers that transition into a 1" wide horizontal fillet on the inside of the pattern, and a 1-1/2" wide fillet on the opposite side. This area of the design is generally the bottom side of the baseboard, it will provide enough space for nailing the pattern during installation, while reducing splitting issues that might be caused if nailing into the void area on the back side of the pattern. The maximum width this backout could mill is 7" wide, with the moulder spindle positioned at .000" axially.
Ever wonder why certain species of lumber have tear out problems during the milling process? Find out more on how to reduce and eliminate wood tearing issues by changing the cutter head hook angle on the moulding knives.
