On this knife layout the maximum depth of cut is 1.000", the maximum height of cut is fixed at .983". Every sprung moulding, we design have height of cut numbers near the degree bevel on the layout papers we provide, that number must be smaller than the height number, in this equation .983" for this knife to be able to cut the entire back bevel while milling, if not, please select a more appropriate size height cutter of the same degree. We purposely layout all our sprung mouldings with forty-five-degree back bevels and under to be milled on the right vertical spindle, and all forty-five-degree back bevels and higher to be milled on the left vertical spindle. These design practices will save thousands of dollars in manufacturing cost over the years, as well as setup time.
For knife quoting purposes use the calculator below, we have added only the important dimensions, just determine the profiles you need. A brief detailed explanation on how to use the calculator is located here.
Thickness = 1.625" / Depth of Cut = 1.000" (right blades or left cutters).
