50 Degree Back Bevel Cutter

This 50-degree back bevel cutter is designed to mill a 50-degree chamfer on the back side of a piece of crown, cove or bed mould. This design accounts for only half of the determining factors of the final height and projection when any of these types of decorative moldings are installed. The other half of the equation for these profiles will be a degree, which, combined, equals ninety or slightly more.

On this bevel design, the maximum depth of cut is 1.124", the maximum height of cut is set at .943". Every crown moulding we layout have height numbers near the degree bevel, that number must be smaller than the height number, in this case .943" for this knife to be able to cut the entire back bevel while milling any of the above mentioned profiles, if not please select a larger size height bevel of the same degree, we have a couple of options to select from. We design these types of mouldings with forty-five degree and under bevels milled on the right vertical spindle and with all forty-five degree and higher bevels milled on the left vertical molder spindle. This custom design practice will save thousands of dollars in manufacturing cost over the years.
