60 Degree Back Bevel Cutter - 3

This 60-degree back bevel knife - 3 is designed to mill a sixty-degree chamfer on the left backside of a piece of lumber to produce crown, cove, or bed moulding. These knives create only half of the determining factor of the final height and projection when the moulding is installed; the other half of the mathematical equation is generally a degree (in this case, thirty) that, combined, equals ninety or slightly more. This 60-degree bevel has a maximum depth of cut of 1.125"; the maximum height of cut is set at .650". Every crown moulding we design has height numbers near the side edge of the bevel, that number must be smaller than the height number, in this example, the number is .650" for this knife to cut the entire bevel while milling, if not, select a different bevel of the same degree.

We intentionally design all our crown mould with forty-five-degree and under bevels milled on the right vertical cutterhead, and all forty-five-degree and higher cuts are milled on the left vertical spindle.
