This modern 3" - 97 chair rail measures 3.000" wide by .750" thickness, requiring four-quarter lumber for milling. The contemporary profile is composed of a 7/8" broad segment in the center, flanked by two sets of two 1/16" wide by 1/8" deep saw like kerf's; each dado is divided by small 1/4" wide fillets, attached to a 1/2" broad segment transitioning into a 3/16" wide and deep forty-five-degree chamfer, leaving a 9/16" thickness dimension on each side edge of the pattern.
