This Cyma Recta Crown Moulding 3-1/8" measures 3.125" wide by .687" thickness with a depth of cut of .219" on the right vertical cutters, .592" on the left vertical blades and a .439" depth of cut on the top horizontal moulding knives.
The time-honored profile is comprised of three tangent radius arcs creating a cyma recta in the center, attached to a 41/64" tall vertical fillet on the top of the pattern, the lower portion consists of a 29/64" tall tapered fillet, connected to a 21/64" wide horizontal line at the bottom of the pattern. The spring angles are fixed at thirty and sixty degrees, these specific back bevels set the installed height at 2-11/16" tall with a projection of 1-19/32" wide. Two high points in the detail were intentionally positioned on the same level plane, our specialized design feature will assure excellent hold down conditions while milling the detail on an industrial moulder, providing the pressure shoe is set parallel to the bed plates.
Please read our commentary about axial constant position for crown moulding bevels, the article will help you dial this profile in axially on the first try when milling this detail on an industrial moulder, provided the machinery is axially calibrated.
