This modern 2-1/4" - 32 handrail measures 2.250" wide by 2.500" thickness, enabling the pattern to be machined out of glued-up pieces of four and five-quarter lumber. The contemporary profile is comprised of 2-1/4" wide flat top with 5/32" eased edges, the sides are composed of a twenty-five-degree inward bevel 7/8" from the top, joined to a 5/16" tall sunk fillet that serves as the finger grip area, joined to an outward twenty-five-degree angled line that connects to a 29/32" tall vertical line segment with 3/64" eased edges on the lower sides, the dado for the baluster measures 1-1/4" wide by 1/4" deep. The knife design allows any size width to be obtained by adjusting the machine's left cutter head radial movement.
