Handrail 2-1/4" - 40
This contemporary 2-1/4" - 40 handrail measures 2.250" width by 2.125" thickness, necessitating glued-up pieces of four-, five-, or six-quarter lumber for milling on an industrial moulder. Due to the pattern getting milled on both vertical cutterheads, the width is adjustable to its desired size. The modern profile contains a horizontal top with 1/4" rounded edges. The flat sides retain a 3/4" tall by 1/4" deep off-centered finger grip area that tapers outward. Connecting a 15/16"vertical line on top and a 7/16" fillet on the bottom, all the corners retain a 1/8" round-over. An optional dado is available for installing balusters.
