Handrail 2-15/16"
This modest 2-15/16" handrail measures 2.937" wide by 1.750" thickness, allowing the detail to be machined out of eight-quarter lumber. The good-looking profile is composed of a three-tangent radius semicircular convex arc on the top, tangent to an s-shaped curve on the sides that creates a firm gripping area when ascending or descending a flight of stairs. The bottom edge retains a 1/4" tall line segment with a 3/64" rounded edge.
