This institutional 4-1/2" - 8 handrail measures 1.500" wide by 4.500" tall, necessitating the use of eight-quarter lumber for milling on an industrial moulder. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved profile is composed of a 1-1/2" round top joined to a 17/32" tall by 3/4" thick finger grip area in the upper section, the remaining 2-9/16" tall portion of the design consists of a rectangular shaped block with 3/16" eased edges, on one face it retains a one inch wide by 3/8" deep dado for a fillet to be installed after securing the railing to the wall brackets, this decorative filler is included in the downloadable dxf file available for purchase below.
