This large 5-3/16" mushroom-top handrail measures 5.187" width by 2.437" thickness, requiring a 5-7/16" wide blank of glued-up pieces of four, five, or six-quarter lumber for milling on a commercial moulder. The semi-elliptical-shaped profile comprises a 3-31/32" radius convex arc in the center. Three tangent radiuses flank the middle shaped like an ear, creating a comfortable grip area with a 1/16" rolled bottom corner on each side edge of the pattern.
