This outside 1" - 10 corner guard (WM-199) measures 1.000" in width by 1.000" in thickness. We advocate using 1-15/16" wide blanks of four-quarter lumber for milling with industrial machinery. The functional pattern gets manufactured sprung (like a triangle) to avoid milling hold-down issues during production while reducing lumber cost. The milling dimensions are 1-5/32" in width by 47/64" in thickness. After machining, the profile retains an elliptical shape with a 3/32" wide fillet on each end of the ninety-degree design. The back side rabbet dimension is 3/4" wide by 3/4" tall.
Caution: the knives will come within .020" of the machine bed plates when cutting this detail. We recommend a wooden, phenolic, or plastic sacrificial bed plate for these milling operations. For safety reasons, we strongly recommend installing an anti-kickback device on your machinery before attempting any milling operations that involve splitting lumber into multiple pieces.
