Applied Moulding 5/16" - 2

This miniature plant on/applied molding 5/16" - 2 measures .313" in width by .313" in thickness, allowing 1-1/16" wide blanks of four-quarter lumber for machining on a commercial moulder. This unique split-two custom profile utilizes fall-off rips of lumber while doubling production in half the amount of time. The profile gets used in the manufacturing of cabinet doors and other applications within the woodworking industry. It comprises a 1/4" wide half-circle attached to a 1/16" broad fillet, leaving a 3/16" vertical line segment on the minor side edge of the detail.

Caution: the cutters will come within .010" of the machine bed plates when milling this detail. We recommend a wooden, phenolic, or plastic sacrificial bed plate for these milling operations. For safety concerns, we strongly suggest an anti-kickback device for your machinery before attempting any milling procedures that involve splitting lumber into multiple pieces.
