This southwestern 4-1/4" shiplap siding measures 4.250" wide by .750" thickness. The exposed face of the profile is 4" wide, leaving 1/4" covered under the lap. The profile consists of a series of three 1/8" wide by 1/8" deep stepped fillets on each side of the pattern. When two pieces of lumber are joined together they create a 5/8" wide bidirectional stepped gap with a 1/8" wide sunk fillet in the middle.
