This 1" - 1 v-gap siding measures 1.000" in thickness, and the width is milled to the desired size, allowing variable widths of five-quarter lumber for machining with an industrial moulder. The decorative profile comprises a 1/4" tall by 1/4" wide T & G with a .014" void in the joint for expansion and contraction during seasonal changes in relative humidity. The top and bottom edges retain a 1/8" forty-five-degree chamfer. When two pieces of milled lumber get joined, they create a 1/4" wide by 1/8" deep v-groove between the merged boards.
