This 1" - 6 channel/gap siding measures 1.000" in thickness, and widths are adjustable to any desired size within the parameters of the moulder being utilized to mill the pattern. The profile is comprised of a 3/8" wide by 1/4" thickness tongue; the groove measures 1/4" wide by 1/4" deep with a .008" void built into the joining area for seasonal changes in relative humidity. When two pieces of milled lumber are joined together, the tongue will bottom out in the groove and create a 1/8" wide gap on both face sides of the joined boards.
