This unique 1-1/2" - 32 double gap siding measures 1.500" thickness, enabling the pattern to be machined from eight-quarter lumber. The width can be milled to any desired size within the parameters of the moulder/shaper used to cut the design. The custom profile comprises a 3/4" wide male and female interlocking joint with a .010" void for expansion and contraction of the lumber during seasonal changes in relative humidity. When two planks of milled lumber are joined, they create a 5/16" wide by 3/8" deep, slightly v-shaped channel between the merged boards.
