This 1-1/2" - 5 gap/channel decking measures 1-1/2" thickness, and widths are determined prior to milling. The profile consists of a 7/16" wide by 3/8" tongue, and a 15/32" wide by 13/32" groove, this leaves 1/32" of slop in the joint area for expansion and contraction. The pattern also has a 3/32" wide by 3/32" deep notch out of the top of the tongue side only, this is designed to create a 3/32" wide channel/gap for decorative purposes when two boards are joined together during the installation process.
