This decorative 5-1/4" - 5 beadboard paneling measures 5.500" wide by .750" thickness overall, enabling the use of four-quarter lumber for milling on an industrial molder. For installation planning purposes, the face coverage dimension is 5-1/4" full when assembled. The famous profile is composed of a 1/4" wide by 1/4" tall tongue & groove joint with a .008" void in the joint area for expansion and contraction during seasonal changes in relative humidity. The top consists of a 4-19/32" flat section in the center, joined to a half bead, and a small angled line on the left, the right side retains an 11/64" beveled edge. When two pieces of milled lumber get joined together, they create a 21/32" wide vee joint with a recessed 5/16" half bead in the center.
