This Butt Joint Tongue and Groove Moulding 1/2" - 2 measures .500" thickness with a .188" depth of cut on the right groove set of cutters and a .177" depth of cut on the tongue set of moulding knives, the width is manufactured to any desired size during the milling process.
The profile is comprised of a 3/16" wide by 13/64" tall tongue and groove with .006" of void in the joint area for expansion and contraction during seasonal changes in relative humidity. When two pieces of finished milled lumber are joined together they create a simple butt joint on both face sides of the merged boards.
This professionally drafted cad dxf file contains two precision moulding template designs to create cutters for this tongue and groove detail. The knife design includes the required draft angles to maintain the ability to sharpen the knives properly without modifying the detail while prolonging the milling time between sharpening.
