This Double 1/4" Vee Joint Tongue and Groove Siding 1/2" - 4 measures .500" thickness with a .219" depth of cut on the right side groove cutters, and a .375" depth of cut on the left tongue moulding knives, widths are adjusted to any desired size during the milling process.
The profile is comprised of a 3/16" wide by 11/64" tall groove, with a 1/8" wide by 3/32" tall chamfer on the side edges with .008" void area in the joint for expansion and contraction of the wood during seasonal changes in relative humidity. When two pieces of finished milled lumber are joined together they create a 1/4" wide by 3/32" deep vee groove on both face sides of the merged boards.
Our purple colored ceramic blend grinding wheel hogging at 2000 rpm, with a twenty-five degree back clearance angle, will rough grind a set of high-speed steel moulding knives in a very minimal amount of time.
