45-degree Lock Miter Joint - 1

This 45-degree - 1lock miter is designed to mill a locking miter joint on two separate pieces of lumber at 3/4" thickness. The professional CAD DXF file contains two high-precision template designs to create cutters for this functional detail. One half of the joint is milled on the top or bottom horizontal cutter head, the other on a left or right vertical cutter head on an industrial molder. Our high-precision templates and knives include the required draft angles to maintain the ability to sharpen the blades properly without altering the detail, while simultaneously prolonging the milling interval between sharpenings.

Our purple colored ceramic blend grinding wheel hogging at 2000 rpm, with a twenty-five-degree back clearance angle will rough grind a set of high-speed steel cutters in a minimal amount of time. Caution; the cutters will come within .020" of the moulder bed plates when milling this detail. We recommend a wooden, phenolic or plastic sacrificial bed plate be used for these types of milling operations.
