45 Degree - 7 Haunch Miter Joint

This bevel 45-degree - 7 haunch miter joint measures .750" in thickness, allowing the pattern to be cut out of four-quarter lumber. The width can be milled to any desired size within the parameters of the machinery used to mill the pattern. These miter joints can be used for making table legs, box beams, newel posts, and many other applications where a shouldered miter might be advantageous. We intentionally added a few thousands of an inch tapered voids on the inner part of the joint, and a 1/32" gap on the inside of the joint, this is for excess glue to escape from during assembly, it will also assure the front part of the joint remains closed when constructed. We offer a few other thickness sizes in this style of joint for your review and consideration, bevel 45 degree - 5, bevel 45 degree - 6 and bevel 45 degree - 8. Due to the knife design one specific size cannot be used for other thicknesses, if we don't have the thickness you require we would be happy to customize any size. The suggested rough wood rip size using four-quarter lumber is 1/4" larger in width than the sought-after milled dimension.
