This large 5-1/4" - 3 colonial chair rail measures 5.250" width by 1.062" thickness, necessitating a 5-1/2" wide blank of five-quarter lumber for milling on an industrial moulder. The beautiful asymmetrical profile comprises a 7/16" cove attached to a 5/32" horizontal fillet on the upper left. The short segment connects to a graceful three-tangent radius s-shaped curvature in the center. The remaining portion consists of a 27/32" broad half-circle flanked by small fillets and a 9/16" broad congee derived from an 11/32" concave semicircle on the pattern's right side.
