This Shaker/Beveled Crown Moulding 4" - 7 measures 4.000" wide by .812" thickness with a depth of cut of .475" on both the right and left vertical profile cutters, and a .437" depth of cut on the top horizontal moulding knives.
The symmetrical beveled profile is comprised of a 1/2" wide by 1/2" tall squared fillets on the top and bottom of the pattern, they are connected to one another by a 2-19/32" long forty-five degree straight line. The spring angles are fixed at forty-five degrees, these specific back bevels set the installed height at 2-53/64" tall with a projection of 2-53/64" wide. We also have a few similar profiles for your review and consideration, crown 4.000" - 2, crown 4.000" - 6, and crown 4.000" - 14.
Two high points in the profile were intentionally positioned on the same level plane, this creative design feature will assure excellent hold down conditions while milling the detail on an industrial moulder, providing the moulder pressure shoe is properly set parallel to the moulder bed plates. Ever wonder why some mouldings look and feel better than others in the industry? Please read our article on moulding knife marks, learn how machine feed rates and rpm of the cutter head can directly affect the quality of your finished mouldings.
