Door Jamb 3/4" - 4

This contemporary interior door jamb 3/4" - 4 with a drywall kerf measures .750" thickness, enabling the detail to be machined out of four-quarter lumber. The width is milled to any desired size within the parameters of the moulder or shaper used to cut the pattern. The most typical width sizes are 4-9/16" wide for a 2" x 4" frame with 1/2" sheetrock wall, 5-1/2" wide for a 2" x 4" frame with stucco or thick drywall, and 6-9/16" wide for a 2" x 6" frame, or block wall. The functional profile comprises a centered 9/64" tall by 1/4" wide groove on the side edge with a 1/8" eased edge on top. The dado's on the sides exist for installing a drywall reglet (square or rounded) into the slot on the jamb, providing a beautiful transition between the drywall and door frame. These jambs are utilized in more modern homes where no door casing is installed.
