Be aware, bullnose profiles are generally milled from either the right or left vertical spindles; they are not intended for milling half-round profiles due to the extra blend area incorporated in the knife design; this extra knife extension would strike the bedplates of the machinery if milled from the top horizontal cutter head. If you're looking to mill a 1/2" half-round, please search in that category, we have a few options to consider. The opposite holds for half round details; they are milled from the top horizontal spindle, the cutters will come within .020" of the machine's bedplates, they do not have any blend areas built into the cutter design, so, if you try to mill a bullnose with these types of blades, you will experience knife edge cuts when the wood moves during the machining process, rendering the product unsellable.
For knife quoting purposes, click on the calculator below; we supplied only the important measurements, place the appropriate dimensions in the boxes provided. A brief detailed explanation on how to use the calculator is located here. If you would like some assistance with the dimensions, print a copy of our fraction - decimal - millimeter chart, place it on the machinery around the shop to help operators save time and increase accuracy during setup procedures.
Thickness = .500" / Depth of Cut = .375" (right blades).
Note: If you’re experiencing trouble printing to Full Scale, Go to File, Print Preview. Change the “Shrink to Fit” option to 100%
