Crown 3-5/16" - 10

This 3-5/16" - 10 pencil bead crown mould measures 3.329" width by .812" thickness, requiring a 3-9/16" wide blank of four-quarter lumber for milling sprung (laying horizontally flat) on an industrial moulder. The glamourous profile comprises a 1/2" vertical line segment on the top left. The line connects to a 7/8" concave semicircle tangent off a 27/32" convex curve, creating the lovely cyma recta in the center. The curvature attaches to a 3/16" radius pencil bead flanked by 1/8" vertical & horizontal fillets at the design's bottom right corner. The fixed spring angles are set at thirty-eight and fifty-two degrees; these particular back bevels keep the face side of the profile parallel to the wall and ceiling when installed, in addition to locking in the height at 2-21/32" tall with a 2-1/4" projection across the top. Two high points in the detail were intentionally positioned on the same level plane; this functional design feature will assure excellent hold-down conditions while milling the detail, providing the machine's pressure shoe is set parallel to the moulder bed plates.
