This bread loaf-shaped 2-3/8" - 5 handrail measures 2.375" wide by 2.375" thick, so the rough lumber blank must be glued from four-quarter lumber to a 2-5/8" squared dimension. This profile has a three-tangent-radius semicircular arc on top. The sides consist of a two-tangent-radius cyma recta with a 5/16" tall half-round bead and a 9/32" tall vertical line with a 3/64" eased edge. The bottom retains a one-inch-wide by one-quarter-inch-deep dado flanked by a 9/32" broad segment on each side.
