This railing is similar to the popular 6701 handrail, it has an eight and one quarter degree bidirectional angled top with 1/4" radius edges, that transitions into a cavetto on the sides creating an nice and smooth gripping area for your fingers when ascending or descending a flight of stairs, the bottom sides of the railing have a small half round bead with an attached fillet at the bottom. There are five moulding template designs in the downloadable dxf file providing a couple of options on which way you would mill the pattern, also a template design for a 1-3/4" wide by 1/4" deep dado for inserting balusters in the bottom of the railing. We have a smaller version of the same detail handrail 2.750" for your review and consideration, the only difference between the two profiles is the top bidirectional angles are different, you will be able use the same moulding knives for the sides, saving you money and time in production cost.
We provide the cut steel size on all our moulding knife designs, this specialized feature allows you to be able to obtain the correct width size of knife steel before you start knife grinding procedures and moulding production.
