This Classic Crown Moulding 3-3/4" - 2 measures 3.750" wide by .750" thickness with a depth of cut of .448" on the right vertical back bevel cutters, .502" on the left back bevel blades, and a .364" on the top horizontal set of moulding knives. We have a few other options in this same size width for your review and consideration, crown 3.750" - 3, crown 3.750" - 15, and crown 3.750" - 22, they all have slightly different dimensions, but mainly on the height and projection.
The standard detail is comprised of a two tangent radius cyma recta in the center, flanked by a 29/64" tall vertical fillet on top and a 11/32" tall fillet below, connected to a 9/32" radius cavetto with a 21/64" wide horizontal fillet on the bottom of the pattern. The spring angles are fixed at forty-five degrees, search our bevels category by these degrees to find two back bevel cutters appropriate for this crown/cove moulding design, these specific back bevels set the installed height at 2-11/16" tall with a projection of 2-5/8" wide. Three high points in the detail were intentionally positioned on the same level plane, this specialized design feature will assure excellent hold down conditions while milling the detail on an industrial moulder, providing the moulder pressure shoe is properly set parallel to the moulder bed plates.
