This old-world crown moulding 5-1/2" - 2 measures 5.500" wide by .812" thickness, allowing the detail to be machined sprung (laying horizontally flat) from four quarter lumber. The detail is comprised of a 5/8" tall vertical line on top, connected to a two tangent radius cyma recta with an attached 17/32" vertical fillet in the center, joined to a 49/64" radius cove and a 21/32" wide horizontal fillet on the bottom of the pattern. We have a small collection of eight similar profiles at various size widths, heights and projections for your review and consideration, 1-1/2" wide,2" width,2-1/2" wide,3" width,4" wide,7" width, and 8-1/2" wide.
The spring angles are fixed at thirty-eight and fifty-two degrees, these designated back bevels set the installed height at 4-1/4" tall, with a projection of 3-1/2" wide. Three high points in the detail are intentionally positioned on the same level plane, this specialized design feature will assure excellent hold down conditions while milling the detail on an industrial moulder, providing the pressure shoe is properly set parallel to the bed plates.
