Fluted-Door Casing/Pilasters Moulding Catalog

This type of trim moulding is a decorative profile comprised of long vertical semicircular grooves known as flutes; they get milled into the surface of a solid wood blank or column at regular intervals separated by flat line segments. These are used in conjunction with plinth blocks & rosettes, chair railing, pilaster embellishments, and door/window casings. Some fluted designs have reeds or half-round circles milled on the opposite side, creating a universal, dual-purpose profile to better serve two different applications within the home.
